Daniel Henry Liebrich was born in Manheim, Pennsylvania, in 1773. He was married two times—to Elizabeth Peters and Nancy Tinsley.

John had ten children, four sons—Samuel Peter, Nicholas, Frederick and George D.—and six daughters—Louisa Anna, Catherine Ann, Mariah, Angelina, Sarah, and Caroline.
